Looking back on my life, I’ve never had any problems making the big decisions. I’ve moved countries, I’ve quit jobs, I’ve turned down jobs. Every single one of those decisions has led to something greater, career wise and happiness wise. I’m not going to lie, I was plagued with doubt at the time. But I guess you just got to trust in your decision and never look back.
I made a decision earlier this year to leave a terrible job. I also turned down a job offer shortly after. These two decisions were probably the two greatest decisions I have ever made as they gave me precious time to spend with a loved one before they passed away.
Now I’m packing my bags and going travelling. Travelling to me is an investment in your soul. It broadens your horizons. It changes you.
So this is a F you to all the naysayers, to all the “economists” who tell me the economy is bad and I should be looking for a job. Money can be earned. Corporate ladders can be climbed. But life isn’t worth living if you’re miserable.
So, you can expect photos from around the world. I will be flying out in less than two weeks (haven’t booked a single flight or hotel :| ).
